'This is a most outstanding project and has developed year on year. It is inspirational for both the children and the staff.'  Teacher, Croydon

In 2009, we teamed up with the National Centre for Early Music and Sing Up! to produce a series of Schools' Matinée workshops and concerts with young people across the country. Hundreds of school children were introduced to pieces from the Choral Pilgrimage programme in a series of interactive workshops, before they joined The Sixteen and peers on stage in their local cathedral for an exciting final performance.

As we enjoyed this project so much we set up our own Schools' Matinée scheme in 2010. Ever year we work with over 600 Key Stage 2 pupils from Croydon and Peterborough. This year animateur Sam Glazer has put together an exciting programme for young people, encouraging them to explore the repertoire of Allegri, MacMillan and Palestrina. The culmination of the project is an interactive concert with the whole choir conducted by Harry Christophers.
